GÖTTING KG now operates its own private 4G/5G Campus network on the company premises in Lehrte/Röddensen.
Upon application, the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA)
assigned four frequency blocks of 10 MHz each in the 3760-3800 MHz range to Götting KG on 16.12.2019 for a period of 10 years to operate two base stations for internal data traffic. Initially, 4G (LTE) end devices can communicate with a control system via the radio cells.
The network can be expanded by 5G as soon as suitable devices are available. This wireless network can be used, for example, to perform video-based tele-operations of driverless machines and to control automatic driverless vehicles (AGVs).
Within the framework of two research projects funded by the BMBF (TACNET40 and AI4Mobile), the suitability of such systems in industrial use for the applications described is being investigated.
