Application Example

The example of a Liebherr wheel loader shows the advantages of remote control with a radio remote control that can be carried in front of the body as well as from a control station via teleoperation. The wheel loader can still be operated completely manually by an operator.

Both remote controls offer pre-programmed buttons for frequently used bucket positions for loading, driving and dumping. The control station is designed so that the operator/driver has an ergonomic workplace with familiar controls.

The images from several video cameras on the vehicle are displayed on large monitors so that the operator can virtually see through the wheel loader’s windshield. In addition, an additional screen provides an overview of the most important displays for fill levels and operating temperatures from the wheel loader’s cockpit.

Other special features at the control station are the additional Bird View and bucket position displays. The operator has a bird’s eye view of the wheel loader on a monitor and can use this to estimate the articulation angle, for example.

The operator can also switch between four individual cameras to view the area around the wheel loader in all directions. Guide lines are also superimposed on the image from the rear camera so that the operator can see exactly where he is driving the vehicle when maneuvering.
