Task: Automatic Transport of trains of barges
Realised 2005 in Berlin
- The vehicles first dock backwards at station A and take over two trains (electric tractors with trailers)
- The truck then drives to station B and docks there forwards
- The truck has turned to the right so that the front of the semi-trailer is in front of the ramp
- This front side is folded down as a loading bridge so that the two trains can drive out
- For the return transport, 2 other trains drive into the semi-trailer, etc.
- The vehicles have a passing bay in the middle of the 400 m long, single-lane section so that they can pass each other here
- The track guidance accuracy typically is at 3-5 cms, even when shunting backwards
- The track guidance uses a transponder system
- Maximum velocity is 6 km/h
- For obstacle detection bumpers and laser scanners are used
