Lehrte, 04 March 2011 – Automatic online position registration of manually operated forklift trucks inside of buildings for track optimization, storage place registration and the traceability of goods in accordance to EU 178/2002.

The following data is essential for the optimum use of manually guided forklift trucks:

• Transport order
• Vehicle position

With the aforementioned parameters, the forklift control system can optimize the use of the vehicles. Communication from the control system to the vehicle terminal takes place via WLAN.

Communication control center/forklift

The exchange of information from the control center to the remote stations (forklift trucks) is preferably carried out via WLAN. Other multi-channel radio systems from our own production can be selected for use if it makes sense for the application.

Reading position markers

A key function for route optimization is the determination of the vehicle position. Our system uses a video camera to detect passive route markers attached to the hall ceiling. From this, the vehicle position and vehicle alignment can be calculated relative to the waymark. With four route markers, a complete forklift action area of 16m2 can be covered.

Height position high-bay warehouse

In high-bay warehouses, in addition to determining the vehicle position, the storage or pick-up rack must also be clearly identified. There are various ways to clearly determine a rack height position. In principle, this is also possible via a video system, whereby the vehicle is additionally equipped with a horizontal camera that can recognize and assign the storage shelf marks.

Collision Protection

The vehicle position or any changes to it are permanently transmitted to the control system. This means that an additional warning about a possible collision can be transmitted to the driver with the appropriate software.
